From Bananas to Socks — Our First Step Beyond Japan
Starting November 3, 2025, our crowdfunding project featuring socks made from banana fiber will officially launch on Kickstarter.
Although our company has a long history, this is actually our first challenge in the global market. We are a small team from Japan, but we wanted to share our craftsmanship, our story, and our sustainable vision with people around the world. When we discovered Kickstarter — a place where creators can directly connect with supporters through their ideas — we decided to give it a try, learning and building everything step by step.
Our company has been making socks for 112 years, surviving two world wars, the Hanshin Earthquake, the Great East Japan Earthquake, and even the Lehman Shock and the COVID-19 pandemic. Through every hardship, we’ve adapted and continued to move forward — always guided by a desire to create something meaningful.
In recent years, we’ve turned our focus to sustainability and fair trade. We discovered banana fiber — a natural, eco-friendly material made from banana stems that are usually discarded as waste. It allows us to support farmers and the planet at the same time.
But we believe being eco-friendly alone isn’t enough.
We aim to create socks that are sustainable, functional, beautifully designed, and affordable — products that people truly enjoy wearing in their everyday lives.
After overcoming so many challenges, we’re finally ready to share our story with the world.
We hope many people will discover the comfort, craftsmanship, and care woven into every pair of our socks.
